Rule #2: Eat What You Love (But make sure the food loves you back)

Let’s set the record straight: eating what you love isn’t about throwing all caution to the wind and making every meal a chocolate cake fiesta (tempting, I know). It’s about making peace and building that healthy relationship with food—and ensuring that your gut isn’t staging a protest afterward.

We've been trained to put food into categories of "good" and "bad." While we’re busy putting a scarlet letter (F) on that slice of pizza, our gut might be whispering, “Excuse me, we need to talk.” So, here’s the real trick: eat what you love, but make sure it loves you back. If your gut is throwing a fit after, it's like a bad dating ritual—great in theory, but in practice; it leaves you feeling... meh.

Think of it like courting but with snacks. You want foods that not only make you happy - but also treat you right. You wouldn’t court someone who gives you the cold shoulder or makes you feel awful, so why would you do that to your stomach? Go ahead and enjoy that piece of cake, but make sure it’s a two-way street. If it’s a one-sided relationship and your gut is left feeling jilted, it’s time to reconsider your choices.

The goal is to ditch the food guilt and find that sweet spot where joy and health meet. When you eat what you love, and the feeling is mutual, you end up feeling energized and satisfied, ready to conquer your day (or at least your inbox). So, let’s make peace with food and listen to our bodies. You deserve a relationship with food that's delicious and gut-approved. After all, the best foods are the ones that love you right back!
