Every step forward brings you closer to your objective.

Thank you for being here. Now please take that deep breath, and exhale-  look at that, you are already taking a step in the right direction toward nurturing a healthier relationship with food. It's fantastic that you're here and committed to embarking on this journey of self-discovery and healing.

Healing your relationship with food is a profound journey that requires patience, compassion, and a willingness to explore the deeper layers of your relationship with nourishment. It's not just about what you eat, but also about understanding why you eat, how you eat, and the emotions and behaviors intertwined with food.

I understand that this journey is unique to each individual. That's why I am here to provide personalized guidance and support tailored to your needs and goals. I believe in a holistic approach that integrates nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset to promote overall well-being.

Let's delve into the six simple rules outlined in "This Is What You're Really Hungry For." These rules serve as guiding principles to help you navigate your relationship with food in a balanced and sustainable way:

  1. Eat when you are hungry: Tuning into your body's hunger signals is key to honoring its natural cues for nourishment. When you sit down to eat, consider starting with smaller portions and eating slowly, allowing yourself to fully experience the flavors and textures of your meal. After consuming half of your serving, take a pause and wait for about 15 minutes. This gives your body time to signal whether you're still hungry or if you've had enough. Listening to your body in this way fosters a deeper connection with your hunger and fullness cues, empowering you to make choices that truly honor your body's needs.

  2. Eat what you love: Enjoying the foods you eat fosters a positive relationship with food and cultivates satisfaction and pleasure in eating. Choose foods that not only nourish your body but also delight your taste buds. Remember, food is meant to be enjoyed, so savor each bite and indulge in the flavors that bring you joy.

  3. Eat without distraction: Mindful eating encourages presence and awareness during meals, allowing you to savor each bite and better recognize hunger and fullness cues. Turn off distractions such as TV or electronic devices, and focus on the sensory experience of eating. Pay attention to the colors, textures, and flavors of your food, and appreciate the nourishment it provides.

  4. Walk 10,000 steps a day: Movement is not only beneficial for physical health but also supports mental well-being and overall vitality. Incorporating regular physical activity into your day can help reduce stress, boost mood, and increase energy levels. Aim for at least 10,000 steps a day, whether through structured exercise or daily activities like walking or gardening.

  5. Drink 8 glasses of water daily: Staying hydrated is essential for optimal bodily function and can help prevent confusion between thirst and hunger cues. Keep a water bottle with you throughout the day and sip regularly to stay hydrated. Water not only quenches thirst but also supports digestion, circulation, and overall health.

  6. Sleep 7 hours nightly: Prioritizing adequate sleep is fundamental for overall health, including hormonal balance, cognitive function, and mood regulation. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night by establishing a consistent sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, and optimizing your sleep environment.

Remember, by incorporating these rules into your daily life, you'll gradually cultivate a more harmonious relationship with food and sustainably nourish your body and soul.

Most importantly, this journey is not about perfection but progress. It's about embracing self-compassion and kindness as you navigate the ups and downs of changing old habits and patterns. I’m here to support you every step of the way, offering guidance, encouragement, and a safe space for exploration and growth.

So take another deep breath, trust in the process, and know that you're not alone. Together, we'll work towards finding peace and balance in your relationship with food, empowering you to live a life filled with vitality, joy, and well-being. I’m so passionate about it, that I’ve created many ways for you to join me. Let’s embark on this journey together, one mindful bite at a time.
