What happens when semaglutides don't work for you? What options do you have?

You: I tried semaglutides, but they didn't work for me. I'm feeling frustrated and unsure about what to try next.

Me: I understand how disappointing it can be when a medication doesn't provide the results you hoped for. I understand how disappointing it can be when a medication doesn't provide the results you hoped for. Weight loss medications aren’t for everybody. And my rules are for everybody. I’m sure you know what they are, but let me remind you just in case……

  1. Eat only when you're hungry, start with half, and wait 15 minutes to see if you need more

  2. Eat what you love

  3. Eat without distraction

  4. 10,000 steps daily

  5. 8 cups of water daily

  6. Sleep 7 hours nightly

They work it’s almost like taking a weight loss medication except it’s all you - all the time. The medications are amazingly supportive and can help you, but you can also help yourself. You can also use my accountability report card to check in, the closer you are to following the rules at 90%, the more likely are to lose weight.

It's essential to explore other options that may better suit your body and health goals. Here are some alternatives we can consider together:

  • Switching Medications: If semaglutides weren't effective for you, we can explore other medications within the same class or different classes that may better meet your needs.

  • Combination Therapy: Sometimes, combining medications can enhance their effectiveness. We can discuss combining semaglutides with other diabetes medications or weight-loss drugs to see if that yields better results for you.

  • Insulin Therapy: For managing blood sugar levels effectively, especially in type 2 diabetes, insulin therapy might be necessary. We can explore different insulin regimens to find one that works best for you.

  • Lifestyle Modifications: Beyond medications, making changes to your diet, increasing physical activity, or exploring behavioral therapy can support your health goals and complement any medication you're taking.

  • Clinical Trials or Experimental Treatments: If standard treatment options haven't been successful, participating in clinical trials or exploring experimental treatments under medical supervision could be an option.

It's important to know that we have several options available, and I'm here to support you in finding the best path forward. Your health and well-being are my top priorities, and together, we'll work to find a solution that works best for you. Come on, you got this!
